Is the supposedly “pro-Second Amendment” Chairman of the Minnesota House Public Safety Committee trying to sweep Constitutional Carry (H.F. 309) under the rug?
After all the momentum you and I have generated over the past few weeks for Constitutional Carry, I sincerely hope not.
After all, this is the first time in Minnesota history Constitutional Carry has had companion bills introduced in BOTH houses of our legislature.
And thanks to your signed petitions, letters, emails and phone calls, what started out as just three House cosponsors is now 15!
It’s clear H.F. 309/S.F. 649 are THE pro-gun bills grassroots Minnesotans are rallying behind.
But Site, Chairman Tony Cornish (R-Blue Earth) has yet to call for a Committee hearing or a vote.
You see, time is running out until the March 10 committee deadline — the day in which bills must have passed through a committee in the chamber of origin to remain alive!
So without your action, I’m worried Chairman Cornish’s actions — whether intentional or not — will play right into the hands of gun-grabbers who are trying to run out the clock on Constitutional Carry!
I can’t explain what a travesty this would be.
As I’ve told you before, Second Amendment supporters really delivered at the ballot box in 2016.
So now is time for our State Legislators to deliver for us with passage of Constitutional Carry.
Nothing else I can think of would send a more LOUD-AND-CLEAR message to BILLIONAIRE anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg that he’s NOT WELCOME in Minnesota.
If passed, the Constitutional Carry Bill would restore the right of every law-abiding Minnesota citizen to carry a gun to protect themselves and their families — WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole!
This is the way it’s been done in Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming and Vermont for years.
But in just the past few years, Constitutional Carry has passed in Arkansas, Kansas, West Virginia, Missouri, Maine, Idaho, Mississippi and just recently in New Hampshire.
In Maine it passed with a Democrat-controlled House.
In West Virginia and Missouri it passed with a Democrat Governor just like we have right now.
So if you and I can ramp up enough pressure in St. Paul, there’s no reason Constitutional Carry can’t soon be the reality here in Minnesota.
The good news is, just forcing a public, roll-call vote puts you and me in a win/win situation.
Those who vote against Constitutional Carry will only be setting themselves up to run into a pro-gun buzz saw at the ballot box.
Even if Governor Dayton vetoes, it would catapult Second Amendment issues to the very top of the 2018 Governor’s race, which would almost certainly spell doom for gun-grabbers once again!
Just consider the shellacking gun-grabbers took at the ballot box in the 2014 and 2016 elections here in Minnesota after exposing themselves as tools of Michael Bloomberg and his anti-gun pals!
But first things first.
It all starts with forcing a House hearing and vote on H.F. 309.
That also means I’m counting on your generosity once again.
Even as I write you, Minnesota Gun Rights is working on an all-out plan to force BOTH houses of the Minnesota State Legislature on record on the Constitutional Carry Bill, including:
>>> Collecting at least 25,000 signed petitions from
Second Amendment supporters — like the ones I’ve
linked to in this email — insisting that Chairman
Cornish schedule an immediate hearing and vote;
>>> A massive mail and email program all across Minnesota
designed to generate pressure on politicians;
>>> A statewide media tour where I’ll work talk radio and
local TV explaining why Constitutional Carry is so
important for Minnesota;
>>> Hard-hitting Internet, radio and newspaper ads
calling out anti-gun politicians who oppose
Constitutional Carry.
I know this plan is ambitious.
It’s not cheap either.
But I’m afraid it’s what’s necessary to force Chairman Cornish to act — and ensure EVERY state legislator in St. Paul understands that standing in the way of Constitutional Carry imperils their political careers.
The great news is, you’ve seen your action make a difference.
Whether it’s stopping Bloomberg’s anti-gun schemes or holding politicians accountable during the 2016 elections, Minnesota Gun Rights’ members and supporters have already proven we can make an enormous impact.
But it’s up to you and me to keep up the pressure on the Minnesota State Legislature.
So please sign your petition calling on Chairman Cornish to ACT ON CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY immediately!
In addition to signing your petition to Chairman Cornish, won’t you please agree to your most generous contribution TODAY?
My hope is that you’ll agree to a generous gift of $250.
I know that’s a lot to ask for.
But we have a job to do — especially after coming so far with Constitutional Carry.
You and I cannot allow one Committee Chairman to stand in the way — and allow gun-grabbers to DEFEAT Constitutional Carry without so much as a public, roll-call vote!
Of course, if $250 is just too much, please agree to $100, $50, or at least $25.
Every dollar you can give will help me put Minnesota Gun Rights’ plans into action.
Thank you so much for all you do in defense of the Second Amendment in Minnesota.
For Freedom,
Christopher Dorr
Executive Director
Minnesota Gun Right
P.S. With Chairman Tony Cornish yet to schedule a House Public Safety Committee hearing or vote on Constitutional Carry, I’m counting on your IMMEDIATE action.
Time is running out until the March 10 committee deadline, so we have to act FAST!
