Merry Christmas, from all of us here at Minnesota Gun Rights!
I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family and friends over this Holiday weekend.
We mention family often in our member communications because, after all, that’s the whole point of Minnesota Gun Rights -– preserving and defending the Second Amendment for the next generation!
Our forefathers fought and died to make sure that we would have the ability to keep and bear arms, to be able to defend ourselves from criminals and tyrants.
Now our children and grandchildren are counting on us to do the same thing, and working together, we’re doing just that!
As you know, in the upcoming 2018 legislative session we are going to be pushing hard for Stand-Your-Ground legislation.
This legislation would simply remove the duty to retreat that exists here in Minnesota before you can defend yourself and your loved ones from a violent criminal.
Stand-Your-Ground legislation is law in over half of the country right now -– with two states passing it in just the last two years.
Getting the legislature here in Minnesota to move this bill should be a simple task.
But we all know how moderate and washed up our legislature is, especially after their actions last session where they killed Constitutional Carry and ran the clock out on Stand-Your-Ground law.
Also, anti-gun politicians and Bloomberg’s gun control groups are promising the biggest push for gun control in years in the wake of the Las Vegas and Texas shootings.
This is going to be a battle, and it’s going to require all hands on deck.
So please enjoy your time with family and friends this weekend, and then get prepared for a major battle in the upcoming session!
